Red Is the Color of… – Haunted Histories and Strangest Mysteries

By Jocelyn G.
Red+Is+the+Color+of...+-+Haunted+Histories+and+Strangest+Mysteries

Red is the color of
an apple,
ripe and fresh,
dangling
from its stem.
Red is the color of
my nose
when I get
a whiff
of pollen.
Red is the color of
a STOP sign
that makes us
wait,
even when we are
on a car
and bound
to be late.
Red is the color of
blood,
the substance
that keeps us
alive.
Red is the color of
the invisible flame
that engulfs Earth.
The flame we call
climate change.
And
red
will be the color of
our tear-streaked faces,
if we fail
to put out
that invisible
seemingly invincible
flame.
